Moses Eugene Malone was born March 23,1955 in Chesterfield County, Virginia. He first played basketball at the age of 13. At age 19 he was 6'10 and weighed 235 pounds. Later on he had a wife name Alfreda and two sons name Moses Malone jr. and Michael Earl Malone. Moses and his wife Alfreda are now divorced because he had threatened to kill her. His son Moses jr. is a NBA player for the 76er. Moses graduated right out of Petersburg High School to the ABA Utah Stars. He was the first player to go stright from high school basketball to the Pros. He played two seasons in the ABA league.
In 1944, Moses had played in the NBA league.He played for the Buffalo Bravos and then the Houston Rockets. He was awarded MVP for the first time in his career.Two years later he led his team (Houston Rockets) to the NBA finals.From there he was traded again to the Philadelphia 76ers. Now he was on the team with one of the best players in the league, Julius Erving. With these two and more, they were said to be an unstoppable team. Their record was 65-17 in their regulare season and their postseason 12-1. In 1983 they won the NBA championship, this was his career goal. Moses was named MVP of his regular season and NBA finals.
In 1985-86 he had fractures orbit of his right eye witch caused him to miss his whole postseason. This caused him to get traded. Then 1992-93 he missed most of his season because he had back surgery.
Malone was the first player in NBA history to get " five consecutive rebounding titles in five years after the 1984-1985 season", when he avg. 13 rebounds per game. Later on he was known for his thick glasses he wore. Moses was named one of the 50 greatest players in 1997. He accomplished many goals from high school to the pros. From leading 50 stright wins in high school to leading towards a championship victorieon the NBA Rockets.
